Bike Lane Violations in Oxford
Top this....
Woodstock Road and Little Clarendon Street, Oxford
Ok, so they weren't actually on the double yellows.....
Nearly in the zig-zags
Woodstock Road, Oxford
Could have gone for the hat-trick with the double yellow lines and the cycle lane.
Carpet Fitter
Woodstock Road, Oxford
The notice in the windscreen says he's fitting carpets in the shop next door.
Good enough for a Drain Doctor, good enough for me.
Woodstock Road, Oxford
A guy needs to buy a magazine so pops into the newsagent's parking in the bike lane... I mean if it is good enough for a 'Drain Doctor' then he should be allowed to break the law as well. This does not count as loading or unloading.
Drain Doctor Abuses Privileges
Woodstock Road, Oxford
OK I can see real doctors maybe needing to park in a cycle lane in case of a medical emergency... but a 'Drain Doctor', give me a break! He was there for ages, and this does not count as loading or unloading.
Popping across to the newsagents
Woodstock Road, Oxford
Someone parks in the bike lane and double-yellow on one side in order to run across the road to buy something at the newsagents. This does not count as loading or unloading.
Another Builder's Van
Woodstock Road, Oxford
Another builder's van parks across the road from where some work was being done, they stayed there most of the day. This does not count as loading or unloading.
Taxi to Old Parsonage
Banbury Road, Oxford
A taxi waiting for around 10 minutes at the Old Parsonage Hotel. This does not count as loading or unloading of passengers.
Two For the Price of One! (Part 2)
Woodstock Road, Oxford
Some workmen stopped their truck in the bike lane and double-yellow lines all day outside this shop they were working on, so another car decided it was good enough for them as well. This does not count as loading or unloading. (I'll post this twice to get both license plates!) The second license plate is only visible on the full photo, so I've added a second photo which shows it more clearly.

Fed Ex goes for Chinese
Woodstock Road, Oxford
A Fed Ex van parks outside the "Wok 'n Roll", but the driver then walks across the road to make a delivery elsewhere. While stopping on double yellows to make deliveries is legal if there is no where else, parking up on the curb like this is not!
Visting Old Parsonage
Banbury Road, Oxford
Someone in a posh car decides to pop into the Old Parsonage Hotel, for around 15-20 minutes, but instead of using their parking lot thinks that parking on the bike lane (and double yellow) is good enough for them.
Delivery to Old Parsonage
Banbury Road, Oxford
Every day the Old Parsonage hotel receives umpteen deliveries, and all of them without fail double-park on cycle path and double-yellow lines immediately in front of the building. Since this is just next door to our office, I see it several times every day. While loading and unloading is legal like this, it is annoying and antisocial. Especially considering the hotel has a small parking lot and could reserve one of its spaces for delivery vehicles.
Pregnant woman waits for friend (in nearby shop)
Woodstock Road, Oxford
This pregnant woman decided it was ok to park in the bike lane (and double yellow) to wait for her friend who was going into a nearby shop. I don't care that she is pregnant, it is no excuse since the pregnancy has nothing to do with the reason she stopped and then decided to sun herself. This does not count as loading/unloading passengers.
